Addar (mbd)

Addar (A. V., Josh. 15:3, Adar), ad'-där (Heb.)–large; ample; a wide-open space; a threshing)'floor; height; honor; mighty.

a An Israelite, son of Bela and grandson of Benjamin (I Chron. 8:3); he is called Ard, in Genesis 46:21. b A city in the south of Judah (Josh. 15: 3).

Meta. The uplifting, strength-giving power and might that comes to a person when he makes room in his life for the good and separates it from the error–from that which i8 no longer useful in his progress from sense to Spirit (height, honor, mighty, threshing floor, a wide-open space). A threshing floor always suggests a sifting, separating process in consciousness.
