Adonikam (mbd)

Adonikam, a-don'-;-kam (Heb.)–whom the Lord establishes; the Lord stands (firm); (my) Lord is raised; lord of the enemy.

An Israelite whose descendants, to the number of six hundred and sixty-six, returned from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 2:13).

Meta. A resurrecting, uplifting, firmly based spiritual belief (whom the Lord establishes, my Lord is raised, the Lord stands) that, even though it resided in sense confusion (Babylon), brought forth a company of thoughts (the descendants of Adonikam) that returned to spiritual consciousness (Jerusalem), their true abiding place. Every true thought in man aids in the resurrection of the whole man into a consciousness of life and wholeness.
