Meshech (in A.V., Psalms 120:5, Mesech), me'-shech (Heb.)–perceptibility; perceptible cause, i. e., distinguished from prime cause, which is not perceptible; meditative conceptions; drawing out; deducting.

a Son of Japheth (Gen. 10:2). b In I Chronicles 1:17, Mash the son of Aram is called Meshech. Meshech is mentioned in Ezekiel 27:13, with Tubal and Javan, two other sons of Japheth; there the names no doubt refer to countries or tribes of people descended from these men, and called by their name.
