Shelah (mbd)

Shelah, she'-lah (Heb.)–tranquillity; security; rest; peace; inquiry; petition; prayer; request; demand.

a Son of Judah, by the daughter of Shua the Canaanite. He was born at Chezib (Gen. 38:5). b Son of Arpachshad and grandson of Shem, who was one of Noah's three sons (I Chron. 1:18).

Meta. A sense of peace, harmony, security that has come about by prayer, affirmation, desire, centered in that which is good and true (prayer, petition, request, demand).
